    Trip to Batu Caves

Filed under: Family — joanne @ 10:35 pm

Trip to Batu CavesAs promised, I decided to bring Dawn and Seer to Batu Caves, a tourism spot somewhere near by where we live.

They got all excited since the week before, when I told them we will be going to the Batu Caves and climb up to the top, and they told their father as well. I’m not expecting their father to remember the date or to keep his promise to join us for this short trip, as usual, that will only lead to disappointment most of the time.

To my surprise he showed up this morning and we went to the Batu Caves together as planned.

It was all exciting when we reached our destination. This is the second time I visited here, my last visit was 20 years back (guest how old am I now, time really flies without us noticing it)!

The place seems the same though 20 years have gone, it has two caves namely the ‘dark cave’ and the ‘white cave’. I still remember, the ‘dark cave’ is open for visits but now it’s closed. We are only allowed to visit the ‘white cave’ and nothing has chaged, from my memory. The only differences is the tiredness I felt this time, it’s harder than the first time when I climbed the 300-step staircase to the top with my class mates.

Dawn and Seer were all so excited, they made their move to the staircase step by step, easily. Before the trip, we were warned them that it might be slippery and dangerous while climbing the cave. So they took their steps cautiously. They got ready with their sport shoes, a backpack filled with a bottle of water and a handkerchief.

When we finally reached the top, Seer asked: “Is this all?” with slight disappointment on his little face, he expected more. And now you can see, the different energy level between an adult and a child. To satisfy him, I promise him our next trip will be a real hill somewhere behind our house.

It’s time for me to work out frequently to increase my energy level, so to enjoy all these precious moments with them :)

    6. Great post. Looks like your children enjoyed their trip to the caves. We have a cave in England called Mother Shipton’s Cave that is fun to visit. It’s in Yorkshire. I’m visiting you from the Blog Village Recreation Carnival.
